A mensagem de manutenção já aparece na minha PS3 desde sábado da semana passada (23 de Abril) e nesse mesmo sábado instalei actualizações em dois jogos.

Sony will release a new Firmware update for PlayStation 3 in an effort to remedy some of the security issues that have cropped up in light of the PlayStation Network’s security breach late last month.

That’s according to a Google translation of a post on the Official Japanese PlayStation Blog, which says Sony will roll out the update prior to PSN’s reactivation this month. In addition, it claims users will also be prompted to change their password after signing in.

No details on the update have come to light on the U.S. or European PS Blog at the time of writing, though we’ll be sure to keep you in the loop on any details as they become available to us.

pensei que ja tivesse on a psn porque as 7h quando me preparava para ir para o work a minha ps3 ligou-se sozinha e só o faz para fazer downloads de firmwares da ps3 ou updates dos jogos.alguma coisa a play fez logo esteve ligada á psn...

Sony processada em mil milhões de doláres

Os recentes eventos que se abateram sobre a PSN pesam a toda a gente, aos jogadores, aos game developers, ainda mais à própria Sony, e talvez exageradamente demais à jovem canadiana Natasha Maksimovic, que pretende processar a Sony por danos que ultrapassam os mil milhões de dólares.

A rapariga de 21 anos, representada pela companhia canadiana, McPhadden Samac Tuovi, acusa a Sony de “violação de privacidade” e de “negligência na segurança de dados”, de acordo com os recentes ataques ao serviço PSN que expôs cerca de 70 milhões de contas deste mesmo serviço.

“Se não conseguimos confiar numa empresa multi-nacional gigante como a Sony, para proteger a nossa informação privada, em quem é que podemos confiar? Dá-me a entender que a Sony preocupa-se mais com os seus jogos, do que com os seus jogadores.” afirmou Maksimovic.

A Sony tenta de tudo para tentar remediar o que aconteceu, com alguns dos próprios representantes máximos da companhia no Japão a oferecerem um pedido de desculpa a toda à comunidade e até a oferecem 30 dias grátis da subscrição PSN Plus para os aderentes que não puderam usufruir do serviço neste espaço de tempo.

Como é lógico, tudo não passa de mais um trabalho realizado por Hackers, mas o "malfadada" opção para instalar um sistema operativo extra na consola, está de volta.

Segundo uma notícia avançada pela Edge, um grupo de Hackers conseguiu restaurar a funcionalidade da instalação de outros sistemas operativos na consola, com o extra, de ser possível agora aceder às especificações da consola.

Se bem se lembram, foi por causa da remoção da instalação de outros sistemas operativos, que o Hacker GeoHot começou a sua demanda para permitir Custom Firmware na PS3, o que levou de forma indirecta à situação actual da PSN.

ė precisamente pelo que diz esta rapariga de 21 anos que estou 100 prc de acordo... e por causa disto é que eu acho que a verdadeira guerra contra a sony ainda nem comecou... e por tabela muitas outras empresas incluindo bancos vao ser afectados e vao ter de rever os seus sitemas....

que nao se pense que isto é projudicial, muito pelo contrario, apesar de ser caro para as empresas é benefico para todos nós consumidores, e por consequencia para as empresas tambem... pois o TERRORISMO virtual pode nao matar, mas pode fazer grandes estragos da vida das pessoas.

nem parecem noticias,parece mais a sony a descartar-se caso aconteça algo com os cartoes e já a preparar-se para se defender dos processos que estao a comecar...enfim...eu que sempre fui defensor da sony estou bastante desiludido.ja nao bastava a maneira como tratava os americanos de uma forma especial em relaçao aos europeus e agora isto...pelo - os dados dos cartoes deviam de terem sido encriptados e guardados em segurança...espero que a sony aprenda com os erros pois a ps3 continua a ser a melhor consola do mercado na minha opiniao...

"I've been embarrassed by my fellow game journalists before. I've written articles about how we need to mature - rapidly - if we ever wish to garner any respect from other journalists. But obviously, thanks to this PSN fiasco, we've once again proven we're incapable of delivering the news in an objective fashion without alarmist opinions.

While a few of the larger sources have done just fine (most childishness at GameSpot is long since gone), others have produced scathing, poorly written, and poorly researched articles, lambasting Sony for their error. And an error it was, make no mistake; I'm just as upset as anybody and I was one of the first to call out Sony for their uncomfortable silence. But through it all, it seems nobody wants to list Sony among the victims of this ordeal, and nobody wants to pin blame on the rightful shirt: the "I'm a loser" t-shirt proudly worn by the hackers responsible. Sony has already lost a large chunk of change and given the lawsuits, they're going to lose more. They've also lost something even more valuable; a giant chunk of respect and trust.

However, it's irritating and embarrassing that only the alarmist headlines gain any traction whatsoever on the Internet, and as a direct result, that aforementioned chunk of respect and trust is far bigger than it should be. Headlines about the compromising of PSN accounts hit ridiculous traffic levels; follow-up headlines about how the card data was encrypted at the time of the hack barely registered. Headlines concerning the compromised SOE accounts flew everywhere in record time; very few sources even bothered to mention the facts; i.e., the data was from 2007, none of the exposed card data was from U.S. subscribers, and only 900 of the 12,700 exposed cards were even active.

We've got articles predicting the "end of Sony;" actual, supposed news articles from "journalists." We have estimations and "reports" that fail to deliver anything but more widespread panic. And then we have analysts offer calm, clearheaded, rational feedback on the matter, saying it's unlikely that Sony will suffer long-term ill effects. In fact, most analysts are saying that. Most industry insiders are saying that. There's no doubt that Sony got themselves into a mire of muck and...wait, I just did it myself. "Got themselves into." Who put them there? We're knowingly and willingly ignoring the criminal activity, which is of the utmost importance.

As security experts will tell you, your personal information isn't truly safe anywhere and at the end of the day, all systems can probably be safer. Hacking can and will continue to happen all over the world. It's Sony's job to be as secure as possible, of course, and it's also their job to tell us the moment things go awry, but then again, we're all forgetting another fact there, too- the forensics required in this investigation took time; Sony wasn't aware of the compromised personal info until much later. Now, that may be a little shaky but it's the lone big question I have concerning Sony's guilt. I have no doubt as to the root cause; as to where blame lies.

Common criminals assaulting innocents. That's what this comes down to. I notice I see very few articles pinning the blame on hackers. Why? It's easier to blame the visible; it's easier to blame the bank rather than the robbers who broke into the vault. After all, the bank has a responsibility to safeguard our information, and the thieves are a faceless threat. But we really can't take this too far. Once we do, we lose all sight of reality and end up with an Internet full of misleading, knee-jerk reactions loaded with adolescent ranting badly disguised as either "news" or "informed opinions." Yeah, I could write a "It's Over For Sony" headline, make up a bunch of nonsense, and subsequently get a ton of traffic. That isn't difficult.

But I must've been asleep the day they announced that game journalists don't have to follow any of the same rules as other journalists."

"Thank you Ben for writing this article. I understand everybody being upset with Sony not initially telling us what was going on. But for anybody to sit here and say Sony is in the wrong is completely off base. I've read articles (not gaming, but news), stating that Sony did everything by the books. I've read that as many times as I've ran across these articles smashing on Sony. Go figure. These Journalists are trying to make an invalid point. Everyone of these articles makes me want to puke. I can't believe that people would stoop so low to give the hackers a free pass and put Sony front and center in this. It's ridiculous. I really hate the gaming media, more than most things.

If it wasn't for the great software and hardware advancements I'd probably never pick up a controller again because they are ruining the gaming community more than anything. I could easily just ignore it, but when I play online I have to suffer playing with other people also affected by it. It's embarrassing, and I can't believe how opinionated the gaming media really is. I'll tell you this. Through this whole thing it's become abundantly more clear that, these "journalists" have an agenda, and it shouldn't be that way! We all should he showing Sony support through this, in what is going to be a tough road against hackers. If we blame Sony we arre letting the hackers get away with more than some delicate information! "

Sony responde às indagações do congresso norte-americano sobre PSN

Em resposta aos recentes questionamentos do Congresso dos Estados Unidos sobre o estado de funcionamento da Playstation Network (a rede online do PS3 e do PSP), a Sony, através do blog oficial do Playstation, emitiu uma nota oficial de oito páginas esclarecendo algumas das dúvidas dos comitês de investigação.



De acordo com o site, a empresa foi vítima de um ataque muito cuidadosamente planejado de forma bastante profissional. Em outras palavras, é uma invasão criminal cibernética extremamente sofisticada. Entre os arquivos maléficos que derrubaram a PSN e a SOE, um em particular foi descoberto: chama-se “Anonymous” e têm como descrição os dizeres “We are Legion” (“Nós somos Legião”, em referência ao grupo de demônios relatados na Bíblia).

A Sony foi além e destacou mais quatro pontos-resposta em referência às exigências dos congressistas. Acompanhe:

- 25 de abril foi o dia em que os times de investigação da Sony encontrou suspeitas de que dados pessoais dos usuário foram acessados pelos hackers, mas que não sabiam se informações particulares de cartões de crédito haviam sido acessadas. Em 26 de abril esses fatos foram levados à público;

- Após os ataques e até o momento, nenhuma das companhias de cartão de crédito reportou uma sequer transação fraudulenta possivelmente resultante de quase ataque cibernético à PSN ou à SOE;


- Proteger os dados pessoais dos usuários é a maior das prioridades da Sony, e fazer da internet um meio seguro é algo extremamente essencial. Países e empresas devem se unir e bolar maneiras para vencer qualquer tipo de crime na internet;

- A empresa está atualmente tomando precauções e reestruturando a PSN e a SOE para evitar possíveis futuras brechas nos servidores. A medida inclui níveis mais altos de proteção de dados e encriptação, habilidade para detectar softwares potencialmente intrusivos, acesso não-autorizado, atividades fora dos padrões considerados normais, novos firewalls, estabelecimento de um novo centro de armazenamento de dados em um local oculto com segurança reforçada e a nomeação de um novo oficial para o cargo de Chefe de Segurança da Informação da empresa.

O desligamento da PSN já completa duas semanas. Existem previsões da Sony de que o serviço volte a funcionar plenamente até o próximo domingo (8 de maio).

In the letter, Black asked Sony to respond to thirteen questions including: “When did you become aware of the illegal and unauthorized intrusion?" "Why did you wait to notify your customers of the breach?” and “Have you identified how the breach occurred?” Sony has responded and posted its reply on Flickr, shedding further light on the data breach.

The letter begins ominously with Hirai stating that “Sony now faces a large scale cyber attack involving the theft of personal information.” Hirai also says that threats have been made against Sony and its executives in “retaliation for enforcing intellectual property rights in U.S. Federal Courts.” The letter also reveals that hacker group “Anonymous” were behind the attacks that brought Sony Online Entertainment’s network services to their knees.

Hirai also confirmed the extent of the new security measures to be put in place when the service resumes and assured American customers they will receive a complimentary identity theft protection service as a result of the large-scale data breach. The letter can be read in full on Flickr.

Sony' s U.S. director of corporate communications Patrick Seybold has revealed that hackers who infiiltrated Sony Online Entertainment's network service placed a file on the servers named "Anonymous."

Responding to question raised by U.S. Congress on the security threat posed by the hacking of the PlayStation Network on April 18, Seybold said that the file also sported the words “We are Legion.”

"Anonymous" refers to an infamous group of hackers, who were also notoriously involved earlier this year with a WikiLeaks scandal that involved bringing down the sites of Mastercard, Visa and PayPal. It was previously believed that "Anonymous" were not involved in the attacks on Sony's services.

In the official statement on the PlayStation Blog, Sony goes on to reassure users that none of the major credit card companies have received reports from customers affected by the data breach.

"As of today, the major credit card companies have not reported any fraudulent transactions that they believe are the direct result of this cyber attack," reads the statement.
